HOW THE FATSTRIPPA WORKS

WHAT IS FATSTRIPPA ?

The Fatstrippa is a Water/oil separator, which operates on the basis of hydrostatic pressure. No moving parts are required for the fatstrippa units.

GREASE TRAP

The Fatstrippa  utilises the difference in specific gravity between oil and water to operate a one way valve where only oil is released into container.

HOW EFFECTIVE IS THE FATSTRIPPA ?

The Fatstrippa will remove fats oils and grease from waste water in the region of 35 parts per million which id much lower than the current benchmark.

WHAT HAPPENS TO THE RECOVERED OIL ?

GREASE TRAPThe Fatstrippa is very efficient in separating oil from water. The recovered oil can be processed into biodiesel and other products.Empty the recovered oil into your used oil collector for return to your oil supplier.

WHAT ABOUT SOLIDS BEING FLUSHED INTO THE UNIT?

The waste water is strained through 3 mm mesh basket when it first enters the unit and this prevents the solids entering the lower chamber of the fatstrippa.

THE SEPARATION PROCESS

HOW DOES THE SEPARATOR WORK ?

The main separation chamber is contained under the horizontal plate which is designed to concentrate the F.O.G.s into one area beneath the oil outlet valve whilst reducing “DEAD SPACE” in which fats could congeal.

WATER OUTLET AREA

FLOATING BALL VALVE

HOW DOES THE BALL VALVE WORK ?

The oil outlet valve has a bossed gutter and ball made of a material with an extremely accurate and stable specific gravity , which allows the ball to float at the interface between the de- oiled effluent and the F.O.G.s

FATSTRIPPA MAINTENANCE

FATSTRIPPA MINIMISED MAINTENANCE

Fatstrippa was designed around the principles that it should be robust , stand the test of time , minimise the impact on the environment , easy to clean and more inportantly eliminate chemical and F.O.G contamination of the waterways and oceans.

WHAT MAINTENANCE IS REQUIRED ?

Fatstrippa is very simple to maintain on a daily basis.

1 Empty the Strainer Basket.

2 Empty oil collection cassette.

3 Clean ball valve with supplied tube brush.

4 Open self closing silt valve for 10 seconds to flush settled particles from the base of the unit.

5 Wipe down external surfaces of the unit.

WHICH FATSTRIPPA DO I NEED ?

LEFT HAND OR RIGHT HAND ?

Fatstrippa units come in left hand or right hand models. The reason for this is to minimise the dead space within the unit and maximise the pumping action the design of the unit facilitates. This minimising of dead space increases the time required between maintenance , eliminates FOG stasis in the units and most importantly maximises the FOG recovery. The choice of left or right handed unit is a decision the technician will make when carrying out the initial survey to determine what grease trap you require based on the local laws.
